What we can learn from CrowdStrike Outage ⛔ 💡 🤔 Recently CloudStrike had a major outage, affecting airlines, hospitals, retailers, and other businesses globally. Here are my humble thoughts🤖 Dependency of humans on technology 🤖 Recent outages emphasize the dependency of modern humankind on technology🕰 Don't release on Friday 🕰Updating when most employees are off can be risky, release should be at the beginning or middle of the week.📈 Release gradually 📈Simultaneous updates can worsen issues. A phased approach helps solve problems before affecting everyone. What are your insights?

Last Friday was normal for some but for many the global IT outage for Crowdstrike customers caused outrage especially if you were in or heading to the airport. I’ve written little more here on CNS ‘s latest post, found a great summary of events which we’ve linked to for those that want to read more. #patchingprocess #testinghygiene #bluescreenofdeath

what is happened it is very strange, I don't know what is the deal between Crowdstrike and Microsoft but this error is fatal for both company. I remember when I was in telecom core network domain, the process was very clear : nothing can be injected on the production without the validation of test team, and because this domain was really critical for the telco operator, we choose one site as a pilot then we let it under monitoring some days before to generalize it to other sites. Sometimes even the big company can make mistakes. The question now, What impact will it have on the brand image of both companies? To be continued...

I was at the ER early this morning when about half their computers crashed, and an announcement came over the PA about technical issues which could delay treatment. I was a little skeptical when I heard "Microsoft broke our computers," but was happy I didn't need to fix it. After hearing this was a Crowdstrike issue, and knowing other endpoint vendors have had similar issues in the past, my first reaction was to buy a few shares of discounted CRWD. Then I started thinking, organizations go all-in on their EPP vendor, doesn't matter the tech, buy the license and push to every endpoint. Maybe it's past time to reconsider that approach, put half your assets on Crowdstrike and the other half on SentinelOne or other EPP. The likelihood of both crashing on the same day is minimal, and if one does crash, airplanes still fly and hospitals still process patients. Yes, it will cost more in licensing, and management, but what will the final cost of the current outage be?
